Partner Timeline: 2008—Joined TigerRisk
Geraldine Del Prete has been a partner at TigerRisk since 2008. With more than 25 years’ experience in the reinsurance industry, Del Prete’s career began at Guy Carpenter, where she held various positions. Her first broking position was with Aon Re, where she became senior vice president of the catastrophe management group for six years.
Del Prete then joined Willis Re to assist in developing Willis
Re’s New York team and business unit, and became one of Willis Group’s leading producers. She was executive vice president and a member of the Willis Partners Council, co-leading the Global Account Initiative.
Prior to joining TigerRisk, Del Prete was senior executive
vice president at Gallagher Re and was responsible for the US Property and Casualty Treaty Group, developing business and assisting with the sale of Gallagher to Aon plc.
“I have had many highlights in my career but they all seem to come back to the following basics,” says Del Prete. “Working with some of the best leaders in the business as clients, clients that challenged my intellect and always required me to be on the top of my game, being surrounded by a great team and organisation and having a mentor who supported my career goals and helped me navigate through the politics of my aspirations.”
In a fast-paced environment that requires 100 percent commitment, Del Prete says that her biggest challenge to date was being able to be herself yet play the politics as well.
Moving forward, Del Prete has several goals to accomplish. “I want to define a legacy that helps other women achieve their career aspirations. I also want to share both my positive and negative achievements with women so they can learn from my mistakes and successes.”
Other goals include growing and changing the industry to provide
“innovation, service and loyalty” to clients and TigerRisk. She also wants to be an example for young women in the business.
“I also want to share both my positive and negative achievements with women so they can learn from my mistakes and successes.”
