Monica Cramér-Manhem has been with Sirius for more than 25 years and is currently senior vice president, manager Nordic/ Baltic/Eastern Europe and Outwards reinsurance department. She is responsible for inwards treaty business written in the mentioned countries and also manager of outwards department responsibilities for all outwards reinsurance purchases at Sirius International. In March 2014, she assumed the role of president and CEO, succeeding Göran Thorstensson who retired and became chairman of the board.
With an enviable chain of successes under her belt, it could be
hard to pinpoint just one career highlight, but Cramér-Manhem says that her recent appointment is the icing on the cake. “The recent decision by Sirius Group and White Mountains to appoint me as Göran Thorstensson’s successor is my biggest achievement to date,” she says.
The next year will be a big one for Cramér-Manhem and
she plans to “further strengthen the Sirius brand with owners and clients alike and together with the rest of the Sirius team continue to grow the company profitably in a challenging market environment”.
As with all successful careers, there have been a few challenges along the way. “Professionally there have been many challenges over the years but with a combination of skill and luck, Sirius has been able to steer through these and come out a stronger company. The biggest challenge will always be the one you haven’t experienced yet.”
