Staff, clients and suppliers of the aesthetic beauty clinicmarked the occasion with a party and celebration cake, complete with sugar icing nail varnish and lipstick!
After starting during the double dip recession, the Sparx teamhave successfully built their business and enjoyed an increase in their client base, by specialising in Laser hair removal, semi-permanentmake-up, dermal fillers, wrinkle softeners and general beauty including nails, waxing and tanning.
“The success is completely down to a great team,” Sparx’s Penny Kimpton told GN.

In a recent survey of 500 customers,Wahanda delved into the UK’s beauty habits to find out exactly how much we shell out to keep up appearances. The results show that on average, 20%of people in the UK have 2.5 beauty treatments every four weeks, meaning their total spend comes to approximately £140.13 per month or £1,681.55 a year. This equates to £80,000 per person over a grooming lifetime spanning 18 - 65 years.
High preening priorities include waxing with an average spend of £303 over 12 months, and manicures, with 40% having their nails professionally done every two to three months.

“Themarket of detox products and treatments peaks in January each
year.This is in contrast to the traditional treatment (manicures,massages, facials, etc.) which slump after the NewYear as clients are not going out as much and don’t see themas necessary ‘must dos,’ ” she says.
Sumita adds: “For therapists, the cost of consumables in an average body wrap treatment would be between £10 to £12 and an average treatment price could range from£55 to £85. A typical treatment plan will have at least six treatments to achieve target results, so there is huge amount of profit to bemade for the therapist.”
