January will see the relaunch of Guild Press’ dedicated nails title, Nail File.
The glossymagazine, previously published in a tabloid newspaper format, will feature inspiring and educational editorial covering all aspects of the professional nail sector, in particular championing the UK nail industry and nail artists.
Published six times a year, themagazine will be distributed to 8,000 active nail professionals across the UK.

Details have been announced of this year’s Nail Competitions taking place at Scottish Beauty and BeautyUK.
Scottish NailTech 2014 will take place in Edinburgh on Sunday 23rd and Monday 24thMarch at the Royal Highland Centre, as part of Scottish Beauty. Meanwhile, UK NailTech will return for its seventh year taking place as part of BeautyUK at the NEC Birminghamon Sunday 18th andMonday 19thMay.
Again the competitions are directed by nail champion DeniseWright, and organised by Guild Press’Guild News and Nail Filemagazines.
Both competitions this year feature 10 categories: • TopTech Competition Nails • Permanent Polish
• Freestyle NailArt Challenge • Salon Nail Challenge
• StudentTip&Overlay Challenge • TopTech Stiletto
• TopTech Photographic Classic • TopTech Photographic NailArt • TopTech Boxed NailArt
• Student Boxed NailArt
The Boxed NailArt and Photographic theme in Edinburgh is ‘Cocktail Hour’, whilst in Birminghamthe theme is ‘Ascot’.
Qualified NailTechs who have not entered any previous professional nail competition before are invited to enter the Salon Nail Challenge category, and for the first time at both events, an OverallWinner will be announced – UK NailTech 2014 / Scottish NailTech
2014.These two accolades will be presented to the nail technicians who accrue the highest number of points accumulated including Photographic and Boxed entries – therefore, themore categories entered themore points you will gain.
