We hope you enjoyed reading about the Pro Sound Awards (page 14), which took place last month and attracted wide and fulsome praise. But did you notice something a little strange about the picture of the BEIRG representatives collecting the Grand Prix award? One of the team, Duncan Bell of Autograph Sound, wasn’t there in person and so was replaced on stage by a lifesize cardboard cutout (right of lectern). All sorts of questions present themselves here. Whose idea was it to use this 2D replica? Was it created specially or did Autograph (or BEIRG) have it to hand? If the latter, for what purpose was it created originally?
We’ve written before about some of the weird and wonderful suggestions thrown up by the spellchecker in Quark XPress, the software package used to lay out this magazine.
