SHOW PREVIEW: INFOCOMM MEA Lightware will hold a 4K demo with the MX series matrix switcher populated with TPS

to 16 x 16 and 32 x 32. Their modular design supports local connectivity as well as extended transmission capability for sending high- resolution video, audio, RS232, Ethernet and power up to 100m over a single CatX cable. Integration is streamlined

by the inclusion of Extron technologies such as EDID Minder (to manage EDID communications between devices), Key Minder (which continuously verifies HDCP compliance for quick, reliable switching) and SD Pro, which enables processing of standard-definition video signals. SpeedSwitch technology ensures ultra-fast switching of HDCP-encrypted content. XTP transmitters and receivers can be powered by the matrix switcher, eliminating the need for additional power supplies at remote locations. Digital connectivity solutions provider Gefen will showcase its newest connectivity products at InfoComm MEA. The GefenPRO 32 x 32 Modular Matrix for HDMI and the 16 x 16 Modular Matrix for HDMI both accommodate a custom mix of up to 16 or 32 inputs and outputs. Input boards are equipped with eight HDMI inputs, while the output boards offer two options for connectivity: eight HDMI outputs for local connections; or eight ELR (Extra Long Range) outputs using Gefen ELR technology based on HDBaseT to extend HDMI with bidirectional IR up to 100m using one Cat5 or Cat6 cable. In addition, three new modular matrix frames accommodate a mix of DVI and DisplayPort inputs in 8 x 8, 16 x 16 and 32 x 32 configurations. All three frames provide eight output boards that include local DVI outputs (eight DVI); extension up to 100m using Cat5 cable with Gefen’s ELR technology based on HDBaseT (8x ELR); or extension up to 330m using fibre optic cabling (8x 1FO). All three provide cross-point matrix routing, allowing one- to-one or one-to-many signal distribution. Seven new Gefen

ToolBox products for 4K Ultra HD will also be on show. Lightware will host two live demos in Dubai. One of them will be a 4K demonstration with the MX series matrix switcher populated with TPS input and output boards. The other will feature the modular extender family, MODEX. This new system allows for almost any configuration of video, audio and control to be extended over twisted pair or fibre within a ½RU chassis. Lightware will also present twisted pair and optical extenders, standalone matrices and other accessories. Matrox Graphics will present

its Maevex 5100 Series video over IP encoders/decoders, which are said to deliver excellent streaming quality at a fraction of the price of traditional systems. Maevex enables the extension of 1080p60 video over standard IP networks for digital signage, collaborative videowalls and other applications. Bitrates are user definable between 100kbps and 25Mbps, allowing for multiple streams on both 100Mb and 1000Mb standard networks. Also from Matrox are the

Mura MPX Series output/input videowall controller boards. These feature highly flexible, universal input channel support for digital and analogue video signals. MuraControl videowall management software for Windows or iPad offers intuitive control over Mura MPX-powered installations. RGB Spectrum will present attendees with interactive demonstrations of decision support system solutions featuring the MultiPoint Control Room Management System (MCMS) and DSx Codecs. MCMS is a complete hardware and software solution that enables multiple operators to manage a facility’s system resources more effectively. It integrates disparate systems under the control of a single unified interface, and can be used for control management in applications such as command centres, emergency

operations centres and SCADA systems integration. DSx Codecs provide concurrent streaming and recording of video and graphics sources with resolutions up to 1920 x 1200. They can record and play back live video streams for review, analysis and archival purposes. Sonic Foundry will demonstrate enhancements to its Mediasite Enterprise Video Platform, including multiformat video capture with synchronised automation of multiple video signals; and Mediasite’s Voice Search Service, which pairs phonetic search with custom word lists, enabling users to accurately search and discover contextually relevant content contained in any video. In addition, mobile upload gives users the ability to upload content directly to Mediasite from any mobile device or any video format and transform them into rich video files that are indexed, searched, secured and played back on nearly any device from desktops and tablets to smartphones. TLS will show its Pathfinder 2 and QS 2 switchers, with an integrated automatic system start function and automatic switching for analogue and digital signals. The web- based room and building control system GlobalControl IP, with the new touchpanel series, will also be on the German manufacturer’s stand. TLS will also offer training at the show, covering analogue/digital signal processing as well as specific TLS product know-how.

OTHER TECHNOLOGIES The complete range of Arthur Holm Dynamic products will be on display at InfoComm MEA, including motorised retractable single and double face monitors, rotatable screens and the company’s latest development DynamicTalk, a lift system for gooseneck microphones. Dynamic monitors will be shown in all their versions, including built-in cameras, multitouch screens and fixed and retractable microphones. All Arthur Holm monitors are HDCP compliant and are controllable and diagnosable with individual addressing for each monitor through the AH Net control system. D.A.S. Audio will be showing its WR (Weather Resistant) series of loudspeakers. The

manufacturer will initially offer three base models, a dual 6in, a 12in two-way and a 15in two-way model. Each will be offered in two exposure ratings: ‘covered exposure’ (CX) for applications where cabinets are covered or protected, and ‘direct exposure’ (DX) where cabinets are unprotected and directly exposed to the environment. The CX versions are protected with a thick ISO-Flex coating on both the exterior and interior surfaces. The DX versions augment the protection rating by employing a fibreglass exterior and a gel coat sealed interior. D.A.S.’ second generation Artec series loudspeakers will also be in Dubai. Dali, a new electric

projection screen model, will

intercom and more. Despite this it requires only a single terminal, equipped with a 10in/7in LCD touchscreen for intuitive interactive control, to replace a multitude of different devices. Also new from Taiden will be the HCS-8310M digital audio mixer, the HCS- 8300MX/F booth combiner and HCS-8302/06/12/24 general controller for booth combiners, and the HCS- 1030U electronic nameplate.
