GEFEN 4X1 SWITCHER

FOR 4K/2K

IT’S… A switcher that connects four HD sources using HDMI to one display.

DETAILS: The switcher is intended for installations that have upgraded their display to 4K and still want access to their HD sources. Ultra HD content is delivered at 4K resolutions while HD content is displayed at 1080p. HDMI 2.0 support is included, supporting 4K 60Hz resolutions with 3D pass-through. Gefen FST (Fast Switching Technology) virtually eliminates signal latency, providing instant switching of audio/video content.

CHRISTIE BRIO

IT’S… A content-sharing solution for single and multi-site workplace meetings.

DETAILS: Displayed at InfoComm and launched in Europe at IBC, Brio uses a single low-cost hardware node to show up to five presentations on either one or two displays in a meeting room. Through wired or wireless connections, PowerPoint and keynote presentations, audio, digital whiteboards, and videoconferencing sessions can all be pushed to any display attached to the Brio node, and shared with all the displays in the same meeting. Once content has been processed by the node, it can also be made available to other Brio nodes via a shared network – such as in a corporate enterprise. All Brio nodes added to a meeting will see the same presentations, and any Brio node user can add a presentation to the meeting. Using interactive whiteboard technology, users in multiple locations can work together, looking at and annotating notes and sketches. Christie says that video and audio quality are both

excellent. Brio supports dual-link and single-link DVI, DisplayPort and HDMI, and there is the option of running uncompressed 1080p video sources. Audio input is streamed through the wireless protocol or connected to Brio with standard jacks, and the combined audio is output from the meeting room sound system.

AND ALSO: Since Brio is entirely network-driven, users do not need to download software or use a USB device – so there are no corporate IT issues with software approvals or administration rights. All that is required is for users to be able to access the network.
