E-Z Model Railroads The E-Z Track®

Includes 26 Track Plans Planning Guide

& Layout Book

equipped with the new “back saver” throw arm. These ground throws are modeled after the Bethlehem Steel Co. New Century standard ground throw produced in the 1950’s. They are com- mon and found on nearly every rail- road and are still used today. Around 15 years ago the “back saver” throw arm started replacing the weighted throw arm on these ground throws. There are still plenty of those old weighted throw arms around in service today, so both styles would be suitable for any modern layout.

The masters for the ground throw con- sist of three pieces of laser-etched acrylic which are sandwiched together to create a one-piece master. This master is then cast by NZT Products into the finished product that you see here. The high qual- ity master and the perfection of the cast- ing process by NZT Products is what makes these products so special. The ground throws come connected to a small cast resin frame by a thin

layer of flash. This frame ensures the throws will survive the trip from NZT Products world headquarters in Toms River, New Jersey, to your layout. The flash is easily trimmed away with a hobby knife. The “back saver” throw arm is yellow

laser-cut paper and easily attached to the ground throw with a little cyano- acrylate. A drop of the adhesive on the pivot point of the throw arm and the keeper will keep that throw arm in place for good. Included with the set are four different styles of targets for each of the ground throws. These are laser-cut out of red and green paper. The parts interlock and slide into a hole in the ground throw. The paper targets are surprisingly durable con- sidering that they are made from pa- per and look absolutely stunning. A lit- tle cyanoacrylate will keep them in place for eternity. Included with the set are two mount- ing plates for mounting on the head

Serious modelers are realizing the benefits of sectional track and this new book takes beginning & veteran modelers through construction of six complete layouts ranging from simple to ad- vanced, room-sized and prototype inspired using Bachmann’s E-Z Track System. Includes chapters on weathering & scenery.
