This time, I walked away with a pile of 85-foot Pullman-Stan- dard flat cars that their trailers would be riding on.

These 40-foot and 50-foot flat cars were the norm in the experimen- tal days of TOFC (trailer on flat car). As TOFC popularity increased, trailer size also increased. Eventually, special flat cars in the 85-foot to 89-foot range were built specifically to carry these trailers. Pullman-Standard built 85- foot cars and that is what this Train- worx model is based on.
