CLR was in the house tonight. You got to share the decks with label father, Chris Liebing. Last time I got to see you together was at Stereo Montreal a few months ago. How would you describe the energy between you two during performances?

Oh yes CLR at Stereo was insane! It’s always a good time! We just love to have fun when we play together and things always get crazy! Especially when there is alcohol involved! [Laughs]

Between DJing and sound design, which discipline would you say you are more inclined to, and how do you incor- porate both in your musical career?

I really love both equally. Although I love to play with sounds in the studio, I always make sure to play with my sounds even when I’m DJing. I never like to leave the track “alone”. When I used to play with records it was harder but ever since I got into using Traktor I really have fun with every track I play and add my personal touch.

CHRIS LIEBEING

Tommy definitely added his golden touch to every track he dropped at Igloofest, closing out another epic edition of this staple in Montreal party culture.

To wrap up this piece I am including some answers to a common question I asked our performers, tying in with the theme of our cherished winter festival, simply to get them to dig deep in their creative minds.

The question was: “If the ice age hit again, and you somehow happened to survive, yet you were stuck living in an igloo for the rest of your life, name me one item from your entire musical career that you would have to have inside your new snow-home?”

Here are their answers!

Chris Liebing – “Just one thing? Hmm I think that it would definitely be my music computer!” [Laughs]

PAOLO ROCCO

DJ Sneak – “That’s a tough one! I would have to say one of those old school fisher price – style plastic record players, that way you wouldn’t need electricity and can make the music last forever!”

Pan-Pot (Thomas) – “I would put an entire orchestra in my igloo!”

Pan-Pot (Tassilo) – “I would want the entire Funktion-One system from Berghain. Or maybe Space Ibiza actually … it’s even better!”

Tommy Four Seven – “Oh God that’s a tricky one! Well I would need some sort of mechanism personally built where it would be some sort of a radio/record player with a speaker and it would have to be playing Radiohead all day!”
