Lastly, let’s talk a bit about the award winning Hospitality Club night. You have the Hospitality tour coming to North America in March, making a few stops in Canada. How would you describe a typical Hospitality show to those who haven’t been to one before?

CG: There is a great atmosphere, great crowd, lots of guys and lots of girls. It’s high energy and based around our artists, their music as well as our branding and our visuals. And that is what it is meant to be. The motivation for doing Hospitality was always and only to support our own artists. We weren’t driven to book other artists but our own. We started the night at Herbal back in 2001 as a way of booking ourselves really so we could get our music out there, having myself, Tony and Danny playing these shows. The night has grown immensely and we do a lot all around Europe, not just in the UK, as well as tours in North America. Although when we do these tours we do lose some of the control and cant bring all our production but it still at the heart, remains as a Hospital Records based event where we showcase our artists, their talent, and new and exciting music.

A massive thanks goes out to Chris for opening up and sharing this story with us, and of course for being such an accommodating host at the Hospitality HQ. Make sure to catch the Hospitality tour when it comes to North America, making stops in Victoria, Vancou- ver, Las Vegas, LA, Boston, Denver, Washington, Miami and ending the tour at Bass Week in Toronto. This tour will be featuring Fred V & Grafix, Camo & Krooked, High Contrast and SPY with the support of the legendary MC Dynamite. A Hospitality event needs to be on any true fan of the label’s to-do list. The energy from the crowd and artists is like no other label-based night you can attend, and that is because fans of the label are not like any others. To help you get more acquainted with Hospital Records before they come to North America, make sure to get locked to their weekly Podcast as well as their monthly radio show on Rinse FM aired on the last Wednesday of every Month, and check out our preview of Bass Week inside this edition!
