USE YOUR HEAD – there are a number of key things you need to remember to last the full night, but most of them are common sense. Make sure you have enough money for lots of water, juice or energy drinks of choice. There are food vendors outside the dance floor area, so don’t be afraid to take a break to eat, and rest. One thing we learned at our first Bal en Blanc was to stretch, yes that’s right – it seems obvious but sometimes you can forget you’ve been dancing for hours at a time. After a few hours on the dancefloor, your legs will be in need of some good old-fashioned stretching to keep them feeling loose and full of energy. You can even schedule a massage break to have a RMT rub the tightness out of your legs and back, just make sure the massage doesn’t put you to sleep! Also make sure you have good, sup- portive shoes to protect your legs and back from aching the whole week, and most importantly, please protect your ears. Spending hours at a time in a loud acoustic environment can cause permanent damage to your hearing, impairing your ability to enjoy music into your senior years… there is one way to protect yourself, and it is called earplugs. Smart is the new gangster.

HAVE FUN! - Remember overall, that Bal en Blanc is a welcoming, friendly and com- munity-oriented atmosphere where partiers will leave their judgment at the door. Be yourself, go all out and put on your most creative white attire, then enjoy yourself no matter what. Oh yeah, you might also want to book the Tuesday off work, you will probably sleep for 20 hours straight after this wild night, especially if you make it to Off White, the official Bal en Blanc after party at Stereo with Danny Tenaglia, which starts at noon on Monday, April 1.

An amazing line up, on-site pampering and the fact that you’re going to be in a sea of white outfits are three of the most obvious reasons you don’t want to miss this event. It’s dance music lover’s dream to hear all these different styles of the genre in one room for 15 hours straight and definitely a once in a lifetime experience that you won’t get anywhere else, unless you go back next year, that is.
