BASS WEEK IS BACK IN TORONTO

As March approaches and festival season slowly starts creeping closer, every basshead’s desire to fly to Miami becomes heightened. Instead of spending an arm and a leg to party in the sunshine state; Destiny, Embrace, and Electronic Nation present a perfect alternative in Toronto called Bass Week. This highly anticipated event is back for the third year and as always, the lineup is stacked.

The madness begins Thursday March 21st with the crème de la crème of the scene touching down in Toronto’s leading venues until March 30th. Starting the week off is Marcus Visionary’s birthday event at Moskito followed by the prominent Ram event on Friday. In control of the decks for this event is label owner and drum and bass legend Andy C along with Delta Heavy, Loadstar and Toronto’s very own Rene Lavice. Lomax (who is one half of Loadstar) is no stranger to Toronto and is ecstatic about coming back, “Toronto is one of our favorite cities. Freakout was one of the highlights of last year. It was so much fun! We can’t wait to come back and play for you guys!” Those who have witnessed these talented geniuses spin know how much energy they exude in their live shows. One thing is for sure, it’s going to be rammed – pun intended.

On Saturday during the Hospital Records showcase, we have the legendary High Contrast gracing us with his presence at Kool Haus. We know he’ll have something special up his sleeve and is ready to smash the place with his new singles Spectrum Analyzer and Some Things Never Change. Camo & Krooked are also back for their fourth time to make the crowd Climax, while Fred V & Grafix will make their first To- ronto appearance. The duo have been taking the drum and bass scene by storm and their set is definitely one you don’t want to miss. If these three heavyweight artists aren’t enough to tickle your fancy, S.P.Y has also been added to the lineup as well as the bodmon himself, Dynamite MC.
