Round 2 on Friday night, is in my opinion, the best lineup. Flux Pavillion, Major Lazer, and Bro Safari will be taking the audience at UME on a wild, bass heavy ride. Bro Safari opening up for Major Lazer is a great decision, kudos to the booking agents for that one. If you’re unfamiliar with Bro Safari, check out his latest release on T&A Records with UFO titled “Savage Beauty.” That release is an amazing example of the creative innovation that is, Bro Safari. Getting some Spanish flavor before Major Lazer dumps some Caribbean love on everyone will be a treat for all in attendance. When Diplo takes the stage and Major Lazer gets going, everyone is going to be twerkin’ up a sweat. If you haven’t yet experienced a Major Lazer set, this is what I can tell you – when Major Lazer starts up their set, girls lose all morals (and often their clothes), and the gentlemen in the crowd will be bouncing off the walls for the freshest dancehall-inspired sounds you can find anywhere. Finally, Flux Pavillion will close this night out perfectly. His crunchy mid-tones and rumbling bass will guarantee that everyone gets a good nights rest before the third day. Get the bass cannons ready!

Saturday, the last night of UME, will be a nice mish mash of varying styles of house. Danny Avila is a young up-and-comer with a touch of Dutch and electro influence. His

Generation Wild Tour with Deniz Koyu has been sweeping the country and creating ruckus everywhere it stops. Stepping up the emotional energy, Krewella, currently on their Get Wet or Die Trying Mini-Tour, will follow Danny Avila. With a nice hard sound, and uplifting vocals, they’re guaranteed to throw the crowd into an absolute frenzy. Krewella is one of those acts that rose out of the Emo and Screamo movements, and still hold onto the notion of powerful vocals. In the midst of the craziness, Tiesto will step out and throw some love in every direction. He’ll bring the night to an emotional peak and send everyone home from South Padre Island with that satisfied feeling. Of course, everyone needs to see the legend Tiesto perform live at one point in their raving career, and what better time to pop your Tiesto cherry than at UME?

This festival has all the signs of creating a unique experience for the weekend warrior. Global Groove, DDP, and Sugar Society are throwing everyone some nice affordable fun to hold you over until summer time. A 3-day pass for UME is only $120 at this point. Since you are going anyways, why not make a weekend out of it. Grab your ticket, and spend the full weekend hanging out at the Beach Resort. Spend all day pampering yourself by lounging at the pool, then, when the sun goes down, tie on your dancing shoes and let loose. The water park at the resort looks incredible, and definitely deserves a visit for a few hours each day. Turn this beautiful little festival into an all out vacation.
