SUNSHINE & HAPPINESS DJ Mag’s Miami party details announced
THE end of March can only mean one thing — Miami is upon us once more. The annual dance music beano in the Florida state will once again have the DJ Mag crew representing in full effect, and we can now unveil exclusive details of the DJ Mag party in Miami — always one of the hottest tickets during the course of the week. After several hugely successful years at the Shelborne, we’ve switched it up this year to a new Miami venue in order to keep the party fresh. On Wednesday 20th March, DJ Mag at Delano will take place poolside in the plush environs of the Philip Starck-designed hotel, before moving indoors at night for the after-party at FDR — Delano’s indoor club. Delano is a world- renowned hotel and Winter Music Conference venue, so it is quite a coup for DJ Mag to be hosting a party there.

Sure to be dropping some big EDM bangers after dark, he’ll be ably supported by fast-rising duo Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, the ever-dependable tech wizard James Zabiela, his former One + One cohort Nic Fanciulli, Best Of British award-winning DJ Eats Everything, Miami favourite Dennis Ferrer, new bassy-house kids Dusky, Defected’s new house king Noir, and the DJ Mag Allstars. It’s a mouth-watering line-up, and all the action gets underway early in the afternoon. Tickets start at $25 from Ticketfl y.com or via DJ Mag’s Facebook page — Facebook.com/djmagazine.
Aside from the DJ Mag party at Delano, a number of other promotions are taking place at Delano on subsequent days. Thursday 21st March sees Luciano celebrate 10 Years Of Cadenza with some of his regular Vagabundos; Friday 22nd is Supplement Facts with Guy Gerber and friends; on Saturday 23rd March the
Ibiza Collective in association with Moogfest Miami present Pete Tong, Jazzy Jeff, Darren Emerson, Jonathan Cowan and special surprise guests; and Yousef’s Circus rolls in on Sunday 24th with Just Be (Bushwacka), Cassy, Tania Vulcano, Dubfi re and more.
Of course, many other parties will be occurring all week (see listings, page 82), and bookending the week’s festivities will be the two massive Ultra Festivals — the fi rst time the event has occurred on two successive weekends. Celebrating their 15th anniversary, the fi rst Ultra festival weekend is 15th — 17th March, with the second, already sold-out weekend taking place 22nd — 24th March. Above & Beyond, Afrojack, Armin van Buuren, Avicii, Bassnectar, Calvin Harris, Carl Cox, David Guetta, Fatboy Slim, Kaskade, Knife Party, Richie Hawtin, Swedish House Mafi a and Tiësto are just the fi rst wave of DJs programmed for Ultra — in alphabetical order.
