overall appearance (I used Preiser No. 1014009 pre-painted passengers). All cars had factory installed grab irons and hand railings. The Santa Fe name is cleanly printed on the letter- boards on each side. Car numbers are provided on a decal sheet to be applied by the modeler. We also received an EMD F7A/F7B locomotive set for our review. They are crisply painted in the Santa Fe War Bonnet scheme with a red nose and lower body stripe trimmed in yellow with a black edge. The bodies of the lo- comotives are silver in color, with spe- cific side panels rendered in a metal

plated finish as on the prototypes. The A-unit has lower side panels plus the upper rearmost panel plated, with the balance of the upper side pan- els, roof, fuel/water tanks, trucks and rear of the unit painted in a silver col- or. Etched stainless steel grilles are applied over the uppermost section of each side. The unit is lettered with Santa Fe, centered in the lower panel, and the unit number and WATER locat- ed at the rear. An EMD builder’s plate is located below the cab side window and a small letter L (for Unit 39L) lo- cated above the buffer plate. All hand rails and grab irons are pre-installed,
