Details I detailed the ends using the kit

parts. You will probably have to re-drill some of the kit holes since we short- ened the car height and now have scrap plastic behind them. I used a lazy approach and used just the bottom ladder holes and trimmed off the upper tabs on the ladders and glued them to the ends. Test fit the ladders like you did on the sides first. I used the Kadee Universal brake housing and wheel to match the prototype.

Install the roof running board and the corner grabs. This should complete most of the car structure.

Before

adding the rivets, give the car a bath. I used blue auto windshield washing flu- id to clean the oil off the car from all the handling. Use what you like. I used Archer Surface Details rivet

The rebuilt 50-foot Southern auto box had a different door (top and above) arrangement. A three foot extension was added. A second set of Westerfield Youngstown 5-6-5 doors was used to get the narrow piece; it was cut and glued back together, then to the adjacent door.

.005″ styrene. This allowed me to get them in alignment. Once the glue has set, make the horizontal cuts in a miter box to bring them down in height to fit the 10′-0″ inside height car. I made two cuts, one through each of the rivet pan- el separations.

now the left side roller. I used a piece of .010″×.010″ to attach it over the right hand roller at the bottom of the door. Sand the cuts and other work per- formed on the doors so they are smooth. With a straight edge at the top of the

doors, align them and glue them back together over a piece of wax paper with a good weight on top to keep them aligned. It is important that they be straight across the top and bottom so they fit correctly on the car. Glue on the tack boards, then cement the doors to the car sides.
