Sample and Selection We collected responses from a pre-selected group of predominantly senior managers and innovation leaders in a wide variety of industries. We therefore expect that the results may represent some bias as the participants have mostly been exposed to and are actively engaged in innovation activities. Fifty-four innovation leaders participated in the poll.

Results and Insights The feedback received yielded the following results. On the question “Do you view your organisation as innovative?” 74.1% of organisations stated that they did. One needs to bear in mind that the sample consisted of innovation managers and executives, actively promoting and driving innovation in their organisations. A larger, more representative sample of South African organisations may yield a different, less positive perspective.
