Skating stars Lee Harris, Emily Hughes and Jeremy Abbott, along with a local trio of Serafina Rees, Natalie Bongirno and Lauren Muffley, open the Rose Dedication Ceremony at the ninth annual Skate For Hope show in Columbus, Ohio, on June 16. Skate for Hope utilizes figure skating, a sport that epitomizes women’s strength, to help bring attention, resources and education to the fight against breast cancer. Proceeds from the show are donated to the Stefanie Spielman Fund at the Ohio State University James Cancer Center and the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer. ITNY to honor 'Mr. Debonair’


The Ice Theatre of New York


will honor Richard Dwyer “Mr. Debo- nair” at a benefit gala and perfor- mance event on Oct. 22, 2012. The performance will take


place at Sky Rink, Chelsea Piers, fol- lowed by cocktails, auction, dinner and an award ceremony at The Light- house. For tickets, call 212.929.5811. Dwyer, a 1993 inductee into


the U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame, is known largely for his longtime starring role as Mr. Debonair in ice shows such as Ice Follies and Ice Ca- pades.


Samuelson, Gilles part ways

Gilles have parted ways after one season together. The duo teamed up in August 2011 and made their competitive debut at the 2011 Cup of China, where they finished eighth. They also finished eighth at the 2012 Pru- dential U.S. Figure Skating Champi- onships in San Jose, Calif. Samuelson, who skated for


10 years with Evan Bates, is a three- time U.S. medalist and a 2010 Olym- pian.


Gilles is the 2003 novice and


2005 junior U.S. champion with former partner Trina Pratt. He also skated with Jane Summersett from 2007 to 2010; they placed third at the 2009 Nebelhorn Trophy. Samuelson would like to con-
