APPROVED (pending approval of the corresponding changes at the ISU Congress) – Synchronized Skating Committee Amend rule 7041 and delete rule 7042 (page 298, Rulebook) (which apply to all levels of synchronized skating in the U.S.) to match the program timing requirements to be used by the ISU. The current ISU proposal would cause U.S. Figure Skating’s rules to be amended as shown below. If the ISU changes this language between now and the conclusion of the ISU Congress, U.S. Figure Skating will use the final language approved by the ISU.


7041 Program timing starts commences from the moment that a skater or the team begins to move either with arms, head, etc., or to skate, a skating movement (glide) or skating until arriving at a complete stop at the end of the program.


7042 A skating movement (glide) or skating must commence within 10 sec- onds from the start of the music.
