Business is back!

The 27th Marine Hotel Association Annual Conference and Trade Show was held in the luxury Peabody Hotel, Orlando from April 15-17

Some 240 booths and 1000 attendees made up this year’s Marine Hotel Assocation show endorsing the message that the cruise industry is resilient and ships are full in spite of recent marine disasters. The non-profit Assocation spoke of a significant focus on safety and compliance through the industry to ensure that no more lives are lost

due to negligence of any cruise company. 83 companies and suppliers were welcomed as new members.

Delegates enjoyed an energising

presentation over a working breakfast by Horst Schulze, ceo and founder of the Ritz Carlton Group on the first morning. He spoke of service commitment to attract loyal customers. “There are three types of customer: 1)

Dissatisfied – enjoys complaining 2) Satisfied – but not loyal 3) Loyal and trusting.

Schulze’s new luxury hotel group, Capella Hotels and Resorts, featured New York’s Number one hotel within just one year

of opening. “At Capella we check customer satisfaction every four weeks to ensure they want to come back. Guest on the second day was Sicilian-born

Andy LoRusso, ‘The Singing Chef’ who cooked and sung through his unique cabaret show.
