It’s show time!
Proof that the cruise industry worldwide is fully up and running in spite of recent marine disasters came in the form of a highly successful Marine Hotel Association meeting in Orlando last month, attracting over 1000 attendees. A lot of fun was had by all and a huge number of suppliers did not disappoint with their innovative, useful and very delicious products in the trade show.
No end of innovation and expertise was also on show at the World Travel
Catering & OnBoard Services Expo in Hamburg and no more than in our very own Premier Taste Challenge which took place in the Taste of Travel Theatre. The mood in Hamburg was upbeat and optimistic and as long as exhibitors are not priced out of the market this will certainly be an Expo to stay for the long term. The next show on the road is APOT in South Korea which is promising to
be a fun networking event supported by a good variety of suppliers. APOT organiser, Happy Keerthi Hapugasdeniya, sees this annual event as a vital networking opportunity in a region which has so much to offer. OnBoard Hospitality will be fully represented at this increasingly important event and will report back on the event in our next issue. Meanwhile, we watch Europe closely as several
Eurozone countries’ economies strive to survive. Our industry is nothing if not an exciting one!
