zine well can accommodate 308 caliber cartridges. Different adapters can be used to vary the angle of the grip, and both Magpul or ErgoGrip hand grips will work. Also, the grip-to-trigger distance is adjustable. The magazine release is a paddle lever style, with an optional Ambi-TG low profi le model available. This completely modular rifle

stock chassis system is ergonomically designed for precision shooting. Its high strength allows the use of lightweight composites and carbon fi ber construc- tion. Both right-hand and left-hand models are standard. The following are adjustable: cheekpiece, length of pull, recoil pad position, grip to trigger dis- tance, and (optional) monopod position and height. The forestock section of the stock

(ahead of the grip and magazine well) can accommodate fi ve different ribs: 0 MOA (level), 20 MOA, 30 MOA, 40 MOA, and 60 MOA. This feature permits mounting the scope at a down- ward sloping angle for very long-range shooting. Further, the forestock can be equipped on the sides and bottom with notched rails to accommodate accesso- ries, such as a bipod on the bottom rail or lights on the side rails. (A light could be useful for night calling of predators where legal.) These rails are aligned with the rifl e’s bore so accessories (such as a light) will point where the barrel points.

The shoulder stock has fully

adjustable ergonomics that include a fi xed position. The stock can be folded forward for easy carry and transport or it can be detached. A thick LimbSaver recoil pad can be adjusted up and down, left and right, forward and backward, and it can be angled. The stock can be adjusted so it is comfortable to shoot for both right or left hand shooters. An accessory monopod can be mounted on the bottom of the stock and fl ipped down to a vertical position to support the rifl e. To cover all the bases that this

rifl e can be confi gured for, the full and correct name for this rifl e is a bit long: Folding Rifle Stock System Tactical Saber-Forsst Modular Rifle Chassis System. It’s a mouthful … but this rifl e is a handful in terms of what it can do … so I guess the long name is appropriate. I believe this rifl e system (and it is

a system) would be ideal for long range prairie dog shooting, and I hope to test this hypothesis in the fi eld sometime. Also, I believe it could be adapted well for predator calling. (As my graduate school professors often said to students, “More research is needed.”) The 300 Winchester Magnum cartridge probably would be a satisfactory choice for 1,000 yard prairie dogs and even farther. And the .338 Lapua would be the way to go for the One Mile Club (1,760 yards). The MOD-1 stock (chassis) with

the most bells and whistles retails for $2,250. The MOD-0 retails for $1,660. And the Hunter model costs $1,275. Considering what a lot of custom rifl es cost these days, such prices seem reason- able to me in light of what all you get. I can think of a better way to help a hunter get into the 1000 Yard Club and beyond. (Travel Tip: If your journey hap-

pen to take you through Prescott, Arizona, around lunch or dinner time, I would suggest you check out the Prescott Brewing Company at 130 West Gurley Street in downtown Prescott. It’s across the street from the court house square. Dave and I stopped there for dinner when we arrived in Prescott and found it to have a fi ne atmosphere and service and great food at reasonable prices! I chose the brewhouse shrimp with chips and cole slaw and I can’t re- member ever having better shrimp. We highly recommend this establishment!)
