Sub-Seating: 2011 Ford F-150 Subwoofer Enclosure Installation ›› Submitted by Sash Long, Car Toys, Houston, TX
The F-150 is ready for a bass boost.
A Rockford P3SD410 10-inch woofer will used for the installation.
A pattern of the area under the seat was created. This allows the installer to check the fitment of the enclosure as well as calculate the proper enclosure volume.
With the width of the enclose being so wide, the technician decided to use a brace in the middle of the enclosure to add more strength and rigidity.
To ensure the brace had a perfect fit and would not distort the shape of the enclo- sure, a jig was created using 3/4” MDF. The center braces were then formed us- ing the table router and flush trim bit.
The rear of the port was rounded to re- duce port turbulence and all seams were glued and sealed.

The technician painted the woofer sur- face black, then the rest of the enclosure was wrapped in a vehicle-specific color creating an almost invisible application.
The final product, hidden from sight, but not from ears.
