precisely tuned and fitted to match the company’s receivers. On the other hand, utilizing the on-site CNC and other precision machining equipment, the receivers and bolts used for the company’s Model 450 and 600 actions are built totally in-house at the Snowy Mountain Rifl e facilities. Snowy Mountain’s Model VS-1

Varmint Rifl e is one of the most popular varmint rifl es produced by the com- pany. This rifl e comes standard with a Model 360S action, a Bell & Carlson Model 2092 composite stock, and a heavy chrome-moly match grade hand- lapped 24" to 30" barrel of the buyer’s choosing. Most all of the usual varmint cartridges are available in this rifle, including .17 Remington, .204 Ruger, .223, .22-250, and .243. However, the VS-1 also can be chambered to handle the larger cartridges like the 6mm, .257 Roberts, 6.5x47 Lapua, 6.5x284, and .308.

Because Snowy Mountain Rifl es

is a relatively new company they likely will be continuing to expand their prod- uct base in the future. Nevertheless, I was personally impressed by the

choices that already are available and the fl exibility that this company pro- vides to their customers. Their actions are a thing of beauty and I believe that most shooters will fi nd them to be a vast improvement over the mass-produced products that have become common today. Whether you are looking for an out-of-the-box rifl e ready to take to your favorite prairie dog town, a benchrest competition rifl e assured to possess tack-driving accuracy, or sim- ply an action to build your own rifl e on, I’m quite sure you wouldn’t come away disappointed with any of the products this company is currently producing. And, no one should overlook the fact that these products are built right here in the U.S.A. by folks who love shooting just as much as you do. Jason and Brian are still in the

business of aiding the physically chal- lenged through their work at Aqua Creek Products, but they are now living out their Cinderella dream by manufac- turing fi ne quality rifl es, actions, and component parts. If you are looking to fulfi ll a dream of your own by having a custom rifl e built, you might give them

a call. I’m pretty sure they would like to hear about your Cinderella dreams and aspirations as well.
