2012 Cheaters and Liars Coyote Contest
Varmints Unlimited will host a coy-
ote contest in Medicine Bow, Wyoming, on January 3, 2012. This is, for the most part, a benefi t for a Cheyenne Food Bank, with the fur check going directly to them. It will be a loose event, unlike anything else. We want fur, and a lot of it, so long
as hunters obey Wyoming Game and Fish laws and the coyotes meet correct temperature. We don’t care how you le- gally get them or who comes up with the most dogs. There will be an entry fee and possibly a calcutta, which will all go to the winners. To enter, contact Jim Bowman at
sagesports@gmail.com.

Member Classifi ed Ads Guidelines To place a member classifi ed ad,
please send your copy to: V.H.A. Inc., P.O. Box 759, Pierre, SD 57501. Ads looking for hunting friends or to swap hunts are run free of charge to V.H.A. members. Ads which sell items cost $5.00 each (for up to 50 words) to run in one issue. No businesses, please. Please send your copy typewritten or clearly printed. Deadline for each issue: January issue – November 1; April issue – Febru- ary 1; July issue – May 1; October issue – August 1. Your copy must be received
ten by our members. Please send us articles about your varmint hunting trips and other subjects related to the sport of varmint hunting. We are always looking for more
predator hunting articles and member fi eld tests of products and equipment, clothing, optics, reloading, prairie dog or ground squirrel hunting, etc. Please don’t be concerned about
not being a “professional writer.” We’ve had lots of practice handling the details of sentence structure, spelling, punctua- tion, etc. We also like to receive photographs
of you and your family and friends out in the fi eld on your hunting trips, showing your trophies, and so forth. There is a special section in the magazine devoted to member photos in the April, July, and October issues.
Calls Renewed for Congress to Delist Wolves
Elk populations are declining in
Yellowstone National Park in the area where wolves have been restored. The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation (RMEF) has again asked Congress to remove wolves from protection. Requests have been made to Congress to remove un- necessary federal protections on the wolf populations and allow states to use science-based management of wolves. The northern park elk herd has declined 75 percent since wolves have been intro- duced to the area.
