-As a child, what did you want to become (profession-wise)?
(I wanted to become) a lawyer – to protect the rights of the fish.
-In which town did you grow up? I grew up in Rome, Italy.
-Do you think your background has influenced your current fashion design style/actress style? If so, what specific element in your background is most pervasive in influencing your current fashion creator and actress styles?
I travelled a lot, so I like to mix styles and colors. They all seem to work for me. Ki-Shirts is a very free collection that allows the body to move and feel free.
-What inspires you in the jobs of being a fashion designer and actress?
I like the way things feel and make me feel. Soft fabrics and beautiful music all create a mood in me which inspires a way of feeling and a way of wanting to be.
-Do you have any other creative ambitions or dreams to which you aspire?
Yes, I am very concerned about the nutrition of children. Many seem to eat food from packages all the time and not know what real food is. I am interested in working on project that will help people eat real food.
-Which basic elements of creativity did your family teach you?
(They taught me) to be independent and think on my own. I was allowed to wear the craziest combinations of clothing when I was small. My mother would also sew clothes for me from the fabrics and patterns I chose. You have no idea what a four-year old likes!
-How did you get the idea for this type of design?
I wanted to make clothing that would help people live better. I thought a pressure-point T-shirt in organic cotton would be comfortable, fashionable and give the person the abitily to help heal the body of simple, everyday problems.
-Do you have a favorite designer, actor or actress?
I love Ingrid Bergman and Sofia Loren, but who doesn’t? When I was small, my favorite designer was Valentino, but now I like a mixture of Armani and Tom Ford. I also love simple designs, like a good T-shirt and soft sweatpants. Many companies make them, and I love to try them all.
-Are you ever afraid you will run out of inspiration and creativity in your job?
I have so many ideas all the time. I have never thought of running out of them. I guess, in this case, it is better not to be afraid.
-What is the most difficult thing in your job?
Going from the idea on paper/mind/computer to reaching people (is the most difficult).
-What is the most fun part of your job? (I love) working with other people and seeing my project go from an idea to a product that people can see, touch and feel. (I love) seeing others’ reactions to my project.
-Do you expect your way of working/designing to change in the future?
I wish. If everyone would use organic cotton, there would be no more production of traditional cotton – which uses 25% of the worlds pesticides.
