-As a child, what did you want to become (profession-wise)?
Either a heart surgeon or an architect
-In which town did you grow up? In Jacksonville, Florida.
-Do you think your background has influenced your current fashion design style? If so, what specific element in your background is most pervasive in influencing your current fashion design style?
The ocean has always inspired me. I make prints inspired by the water and my designs are also inspired by surfing and beach themes.
-What inspires you in the job of being a fashion designer?
I was always interested in styling. The addition of being involved in the manufacturing of the fashion designs and the creation of fabrics made the job of fashion designer extra appealing to me.
-In which way do you consider yourself an innovative creator?
As a fashion brand we are very innovative in the sense that we like to create more atmosphere around our brand. In the future we hope to get more and more retail space to create that innovation around our Timo Weiland Brand.
-Do you have any other creative ambitions or dreams to which you aspire?
I would love to make a film, a well written drama thriller, based on a book. I love the book the Single Man and a film like Social Network.
-Which basic elements of creativity did your family teach you?
Most of the members in my family are very creative with an open mind and a laissez- faire approach.
-How did you get the idea for your fashion designs?
Ideas for my fashion deisgns come from real or fantastical trips in my mind. There is always a loose root of inspiration form somewhere. It can also be a song or a book.

Dries van Noten, Lanvin, Lavin, Marc Jacobs, Designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez from Proenza Schouler.
-Are you ever afraid you will run out of inspiration and creativity in your job?
No, never.
-What is the most difficult thing in your job? To pull and derange my ideas and designs.
-What is the most fun part of your job? The creating of fabrics and the design and sketching part.
