Jewelry Designer & her Lyra Lovestar Jewelry Line
About CRYSTAL STREETS
Crystal Streets, fashion diva-in-residence on the hit TV show “House of Glam,” is a style universe star with a design vision as dynamic and inspired as her larger-than- life persona. Now, the stylist behind celebrity clients such as Ciara, Will Smith, Jay-Z, Rihanna, Usher and Mariah Carey brings her own universe of fashion to life with the LYRALOVESTAR Jewelry Collection.
Crystal Streets grew up in Philadelphia in an entrepreneurial family. The daughter of a cosmetic line entrepreneur, Crystal was inspired to become an entrepreneur from a young age. Combining her entrepreneurial spirit and creativity, Crystal found her inspiration for her jewelry line during her pregnancy with her daughter Lyra.
During the pregnancy, Crystal’s whole perspective in life changed, and huge amounts of inspiration abounded within her. Previously, Crystal had worked as a wardrobe stylist, but during her pregnancy, she felt extremely inclined to express herself in a more creative way.
Designing jewelry allowed her to communicate her own story and the story of her daughter, who is named after a constellation. Crystal’s fascination with the moon and the stars allowed her to tell their stories, and the celestial symbols inspired her to design beautiful necklaces, rings, earrings and bracelets.
Drawing from classes at the Fashion Institute of Technology (F.I.T.), Crystal’s jewelry line showcases her professionalism and creativity in design. She also is inspired by her best friend, Brandy Simpkins; her favorite fashion designer, Vivienne Westwood; and her favorite hairstylist.
While struggles with communication to her China- based production facility have created some hurdles to the jewelry line, Crystal’s work does not feel like work, because she is doing what she loves to do. If she ever needs to get away, though, her favorite holiday resort is Capri, the Italian island along the Almalfi Coast.
Crystal dreams of broadening her LYRALOVESTAR Jewelry Collection sales to QVC in the near future, but for now, her designs are available at www.lyralovestar.com and at select boutiques.
