Fashion | NEW YORK

-Do you expect your way of creating fashions to change in the future?

Fashion design is determined also by new techniques and innovation that come to us. We just started to design with embroidery in our latest collection, cause a new technique made it easier for us to integrate that in the designs.

-Do you embrace the changes in the fashion industry regarding social media and technology influences?

The world has been hugely altered with Twitter, Facebook etc. There is so much content now that people nearly have to become curators of their own life.

-Do you like art? Do you have any preferences for an artist? And/or for creators of artistic work? (Creators can also be chefs, designers, photographers, authors or inventors.)

One of my favorite artists is Julian Schnabel.

-If so, why is that? What special quality do you like in their work or personalities?

He makes excellent work, artworks and films, that are inspiring me.

-Could we feature your favorite fashion designer, author, artist, designer, architect, filmmaker, etc. in our magazine and/or online?

Julian Schnabel please.

-In which way do you think fashion design and architecture are different and/or similar?

They are all about aesthetics, in where a lot of details are important, entering the industry is difficult and there is endless innovation possible. There is no end to inspiration in both industries.

“The world has been hugely altered with Twitter, Facebook etc. There is so much content now, that people nearly have to become curators of their own life.”

-Do you aspire to collaborate in your creations with an artist from another artistic discipline?

I would love to do a film collaboration with filmmaker James Frenco.

-Do you follow any philosophical or psychological approach in making your designs?

Not really, all I can say is that I design organically.

-What is your favorite building in the world? (If more than one, please list more, and if you like, please add motivation to your favorite(s).)

I love the Chrysler building in New York.

-What is your favorite hotel? (If more than one, please list more, and if you like, please add motivation to your favorite(s).)

Chateau Marmont in L.A. and Hotel Petit Milan in Paris

-What would be your ideal home? (If more than one, please list more, and if you like, please add motivation to your dream home(s).)

I think it would be amazing to have a house somewhere in South-Africa and as always I love New York.

-Do you have any dreams for the future?

I would love to grow the business and to continue to do what I love and develop more innovative designs and performances with my fashion. I love to be the fashionbrand that people will follow for its innovation, a benchmark to follow. To be the fashionbrand that is the innovative highlight from New York Fashion Week.
