Culminating a day of reflection and recognition, Upper School Class Night was a momentous event, officially bringing the 101st

of the St. Anne’s-Belfield Upper School to a close. Kevin Zeithaml ‘11, Senior Class Co-President, addressed the audience, challenging his classmates to become the next "Greatest Generation." Te Up- per School Teacher Awards–the Elizabeth Copeland Norfleet and the Lossie N. Wilkinson Awards–were presented to Michael Loret

and Janet Moore-Coll, respectively. Additionally, Karen Ahern and Charlotte Zeithaml were the co-recipients of the Marianne H. Zirkle Parent Volunteer Award this year. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the yearbook staff presented its annual slideshow, which was followed by the distribution of the 2010-2011 Yearbook and the Candle Cer- emony in the Randolph Hall Auditorium.

Upper School Teaching Awards The Elizabeth Copeland Norfleet Award ~ Mr. Michael Loret

Te recipient of the 2011 Elizabeth Copeland Norfleet Award is, quite simply, a master teacher. Energy and enthusiasm radiate fom his classroom, and within minutes of visiting his class, one cannot avoid getting caught up in the subject matter at hand. He is able to transport you to distant times and places with a giſt for storytelling and a theatrical flair, and you just want to know more fom him. Beyond his contagious energy and enthusiasm, what makes this teacher a true master at his craſt is his refusal to accept anything but the best fom his students. He insists on preserving, during each class and in every conversation with a student or advisee, what we hold dear about our academic program: our commitment to high standards. And he does not pay lip service to his insistence on the highest expectations, as he demands the same of himself, as evidenced in his meticulous preparation for every class, every day. Tis year's recipient of the Elizabeth Copeland Norfleet Prize is Mr. Michael Loret.

The Lossie N. Wilkinson Teacher Award ~ Ms. Janet Moore-Coll

Tis year’s recipient of the Lossie N. Wilkinson Teacher Award is already well known for her dedicated teaching and the seeds of inspiration she plants with her students in her classroom. Te role that she plays outside of her classroom is similarly admired, most notably through her leadership of our yearbook, which requires countless hours and meticulous organization. She has recently expanded the impact she has on the division in the increasingly important position of class dean. In this role, she has worked with a team of teachers to ensure the academic well-being of our juniors. Using her trademark care and concern for her students, she has meticulously monitored the progress of our juniors and has become a trusted resource to her grade-level team and a valued advisor to me on numerous school and student matters. Tis year's recipient of the Lossie N. Wilkinson Prize is Ms. Janet Moore-Coll.
