ARTS REPORT Performing Arts
Trough the unwavering support and incredible enthusiasm of STABFAB and the creative leadership of our teachers, the fine and performing arts at St. Anne's-Belfield School enjoyed a banner year.
Te choir and orchestra had a busy year including a Madrigal Dinner with music and skits in the Renaissance mode. Seven high schools and two colleges attended the A Cappella Fest for a day of music making, which ended with a performance by all the groups to a capacity crowd. Eleven students were selected to the All-District Choir, and Jansen Foster '12 was selected for the All- Virginia Choir. In the Middle School, the 7/8 Choir was awarded Best Overall Middle School Choral group, and the sixth grade was given the Esprits de Corps Award during their annual Music in the Parks Trip.
My Fair Lady, the spring musical, was a treat for everyone, with the key roles played by our very talented group of seniors. Teater Arts Department Chair Dorene Fisher was quick to recognize their contributions: "Over the years, these students have worked in all aspects of production and have been invaluable. Tere are some huge shoes to fill in the Teater Department next year.”
