ATHLETIC REPORT Winter Sports Roundup

Across the winter and spring athletic seasons, eleven varsity teams and many junior varsity and Middle School teams participated in yet another record- breaking year for athletics at St. Anne's-Belfield School. Over the course of the 2010-2011 school year, our teams captured four state championships, three league championships, and placed over 50 students on All-State, All- Conference, or All-America teams. Additionally, five of our varsity coaches–Brian Bartholomew (Field Hockey), Betsy Nugent (Girls' Tennis), John Blake (Football),

by Jean Craig

Phil Stinnie (Girls' Basketball), and Alan Swanson (Baseball)–were named "Coach of the Year" for their respective sports on the conference and state levels. Across the board, the Saints performed remarkably well over the course of the year, and did so with the respect and sportsmanship that has come to represent St. Anne's-Belfield School athletics. As our athletes prepare to be "Stong in Body" in 2011-2012, they carry with them the momentum of the past year, which will surely lead them to even greater heights.
