since she graduated from the University of Virginia in May 2010 with a degree in Environmental Science. She completed a one-month National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) Instructor Course based out of Tuscon, Arizona, this spring. Prior to the trip she noted, "I'll be hiking in the Gila Wilderness and climbing at Cochise Stronghold - some pretty incredible places from what I've heard!" She returned to Wyoming after her course to work on the NOLS ranch for the summer.


Patrick Decker ’07 returned to campus in January to give Upper School Chapel. After St. Anne's-Belfield School, he went on to study at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida.


Rebecca Dolan ‘07 has been accepted into the master's program at the University of Virginia’s Curry School of Education. No stranger to the Curry School, Rebecca was involved with the Young Women Leaders Program (YWLP), a partnership between the Curry School and the Charlottesville Women’s Center to help middle school girls reach their full potential, during her undergraduate career at UVA.


Victoria Friedman ’07, Chelsea Staunton ’10, and Megan Velie ’07, all members of the Sewanee Tigers Women’s Lacrosse team, won the 2011 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse Championship. The top-ranked Tigers beat second seed Colorado College by a score of 14-11, with Megan logging three assists in the championship game. See photo above.


Wilton Megargel ’07 was named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week this past March. Playing attack, Wilton led the Washington & Lee University Women’s Lacrosse team in scoring this season and scored her 100th career point in a March 12th match-up against Salisbury University.


Lucie Rhoads ’07 recently served on the homecoming court as one of Vanderbilt's ten "Outstanding Seniors," voted on by the entire university community. As president of Vanderbilt's chapter of Manna Project, Lucie has worked to increase spring break trip offerings from two to fourteen trips, in


addition to raising over $40,000 for local and global initiatives. She was accepted in Teach For America's 2011 corps and will teach elementary school in Memphis, Tennessee, starting this fall.


Annie Temmink ’07 was awarded a 2011 Watson Fellowship. A studio art major and mathematics minor at Davidson College, Annie will use the $25,000 fellowship to examine the cultural imagery, symbolism, climate, and history of clothing in travels to Ghana, India, and Indonesia. We were thrilled to have a pair of Annie’s mixed media sculptures in the Alumni Art Show during Reunion Weekend.


Chris Mereen ’08 and Dustin Baellow ’10 celebrated with their team as Randolph-Macon College took home the 2011 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) championship in baseball. The Yellow Jackets topped Bridgewater College 6-2 to win their second ODAC title in four years. Chris and Dustin both play outfield for the team.


Elizabeth Snipes ’08 will be graduating a year early this August 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in French and concentration in Pharmacy from Auburn University. She will then enter Auburn University's Harrison School of Pharmacy, which is a four-year program similar to medical school. She notes, “I can't believe it's happening so fast!”


Kirsten West ’08 was named one of Capital Athletic Conference’s Women’s Lacrosse Players of the Week. Playing midfield for the University of Mary Washington, Kirsten recently scored a season high four goals and one assist against Wesley College.


Taylor Brown ’09 earned Dean’s List honors, indicating a GPA of 3.7 or above, at Baylor University for the fall 2010 semester.


Tommy Carpenter ’09 was selected to attend the acclaimed New York String Orchestra Seminar over the Christmas holiday. Tommy was one of sixty-two outstanding music students from across the country invited to New York City for ten days of orchestral rehearsals and chamber music workshops with many of the nation’s most acclaimed artists. The program culminated with two concerts at Carnegie Hall. More recently,


Tommy was chosen to participate in an eight-week intensive orchestral fellowship with the National Repertory Orchestra in Breckenridge, Colorado. Tommy will spend his summer performing a demanding twenty-nine concert schedule and studying all aspects of career development within classical music.


Grace Griffin ’10 was named to the Dean’s High Honors List for the fall 2010 semester at Connecticut College.


Laura Pendleton ’10 maintained Highest Honors at Skidmore College, which acknowledges a GPA of 3.67 or higher.
