Mercurys 2011
Mercurys 2011
Mercurys awards are nearly upon us once again and I invite you all to enter. You will find an entry form online at
www.itcanet.com/awards/mercury/entryform.asp
Dear Members, Mercurys is always full of innovative ideas – after all it was developed purely for that reason. This past year has seen me take considerable time and effort to evaluate the categories to see if we should expand these to include other topic areas. After a full evaluation we determined that we will stick to the six categories outlined below. That does not mean in time this format may not change, but for now we will focus on our core rationale of recognising Innovation within our Industry. Last year, however, there was considerable
importance placed on the Environment* and it was felt that there should be a mention of this sector of the market. The plan is that all entrants will enter the normal categories 1–6 and on the entry form they can say that they also wish their entry to be judged for the Environment award. This way it stretches across all categories. Once again we have managed to obtain
the services of a multi-skilled, multi-national judging panel that will maintain the prestige of the Mercurys. I am delighted to say the following have
agreed to be judges this year: Tracey Barnett – BMI Werner Kimmeringer – Etihad Chris Jackson – DHL Camilla Dean – Bel UK Ed Roberts – Diversey Christian Bris - Newrest Kevin Cox – Horizon. The judges will meet to receive the
presentations from all the entering companies Winners of Mercurys 2010 celebrate at ITCA Nice in London on January 18-19 2012. Our specialist on the panel, Ed Roberts, will
help us in evaluating the environmental impact – positive or negative – of any and all entries. It would greatly please me if we could get some really inspirational entries for the awards this year including showcasing new ideas that may even not yet have reached the drawing board stage. We believe that in these difficult days ideas are crucial to keep the industry innovating and I truly hope to see
