mooring buoy was gone too! During a search, we found the buoy about 100 yards up the north shore very near the cliffs. We did not hear a thing during the night. This was a regular Washington Park Dept. buoy. Have

you had reports of this type of thing? We reported it to the Ranger via phone message and they have acknowledged my report. They were going to investigate and stated we were the only call they got on this incident.

Lauri Krämer AKA Duck Dodge Lauri Serafin

I called Parks, described the incident and could only get them to say that everything was fine with the buoys on Clark Island. No harm no foul I guess.

CAPE GEORGE MARINE WORKS, INC.

Hello From San Francisco We’re in Sausalito, across the Bay from San Francisco,

where we spent last week. Internet connectivity is not hard to find, but bandwidth is, which has made uploading and updating the blog somewhat excruciating. There are two posts: “More Notes on the Passage to San Francisco,” and “A San Francisco Bay Odyssey,” which we are only partway through.

The Bay Area is full of much to see and do, and we’re intent on making the most of it. From Sausalito we plan to head over to Berkeley to visit with friends; but a trip up the Petaluma and/or Napa Rivers (or both) to explore wine country is on the list before heading back out to sea toward Half Moon Bay. Fair winds! Jim & Karen

We have a feature this month on Jim and Karen’s trip from Neah Bay to Eureka aboard their Dana 24. You can follow them and other Northwest cruisers on our Cruisers Blog at www.48north.com
