recent pics from Norway. I just returned from cruising the fjords of the entire west coast (aboard a coastal cruise ship). More than a thousand miles of a combination the San Juans, Canadian Rockies and then some (plus the midnight sun).

I wanted to tell you about this odd thing. We were on vacation in the San Juans the last two weeks of July on our Ericson 39. On the evening on July 24, we were secured on one of the five mooring buoys on the east side of Clark Island. In the late evening the wind came up, maybe 15 knots with gusts from the SSE. Very bumpy night! A bit after moonrise, in the very early morning hours (1 a.m.?), Pete checked on the situation in the anchorage. Everyone was present and nothing unusual. We got up about 8 a.m. and the Catalina 40 or 42, Saratoga Sunrise from Coupeville, WA, that was on the northernmost buoy in the anchorage (next to us) was GONE. The weird thing is that the
