three partners because we believe the future of metalcasting depends on how well we work together as an industry. We must develop global best practices for quality, production and energy efficiency, and safety and environmental initia- tives. We must learn to market the capabilities of engineered cast components to design engineers and purchasers that work at OEMs, machine shops and other manufactuers across the globe. We must understand our true competi- tion (forgings, fabrications, stampings, powdered metal and plastics) and how to overcome them. We hope you enjoy reading the first issue of Global Cast-
