greenhouse gas emissions without prior congressional ap- proval. Metalcasting advocates believe the costs to comply with the regulations incurred by utilities, refiners and large manufacturers would be passed to their customers, including metalcasters, increasing fuel and energy costs. Te House bill was the latest effort by Republicans to


limit EPA’s authority. A spending bill passed in February would slash funding at the agency by $3 billion and pro- hibit funding for its climate regulations through the end of September. ■
