drive transmission cases that are being cast at the compa- ny’s Gateway Avenue plant. Te rear wheel drive transmis- sion cases will be used in the Mustang and F-150 models, among others. Production on the parts started in Sep- tember 2010 and will escalate to full volume by the third quarter of 2011. “These programs are strategically important to J.L.

Eight Projects, Including Metalcasting Facility, Begin at Xi’an Aviation Base
西安航空基地8个项目同日开工 Eight construction projects, among them the Haosen
Investment Casting Base, were begun at Xi’an Aviation Base, Shaanxi Province, China, on March 9. The Haosen Investment Casting Base, which is
projected to cost 180 million Yuan ($27.8 million), will focus on five areas: turbine blades, industrial instrument components, valves, auto parts and aeronautic parts. The products will be exported to the U.S., France, Germany, Singapore, Denmark, Russia and the Taiwan region, among other places. The total investment in the eight projects is expected to be 2.3 billon Yuan (about $355 million). The busi- nesses will cover precision aeronautic manufacturing, higher education and hotels, as well as other amenities. The Aviation Hotel and Science & Technology Apart- ment project, with a total investment of 580 million Yuan ($89.6 million), will open a common plaza that will include a five-star hotel, business center, commercial district and apartments at the center of the base. ■
