U.S. ITC Revokes Magnesium Antidumping Order on Russia U.S. ITC取消针对俄罗斯的镁发倾销法令
Te U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) an- nounced it has revoked the antidumping order on mag- nesium from Russia but continued the order on Chinese magnesium. ITC said in a press release it determined that revoking the existing antidumping duty order on magnesium from Russia would not “be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury within a reasonably foresee- able time.” Te action was conducted under the five-year sunset
review process required by the Uruguay Round Agreements Act. ITC Chairman Deanna Tanner Okun, Vice Chairman Irving Williamson and Commissioners Daniel Pearson and Shara Aranoff voted in the affirmative with respect to China and in the negative with respect to Russia. Commis- sioner Charlotte Lane voted in the affirmative with respect to both countries. Commissioner Dean Pinkert did not participate in the reviews. Te North American Die Casting Association, Wheeling,
Ill., U.S., said in a press release the decision was “an impor- tant victory” for the U.S. magnesium diecasting industry. ■

Toyota Investing $8.4 Million in Two U.S. Metalcasting Plants

at two of its U.S.-based metalcasting facilities as part of transmission capacity upgrades. Toyota said in a press release the expansions, at its Bodine Aluminum plants in Jackson, Tenn., U.S., and Troy, Mo., U.S., will support the addition of 6-speed automatic transmission capacity at its assembly facility in Buffalo, W.V., U.S. The two Bodine plants are expected to cast transmis-
sion cases and housing parts for the products. Toyota said the expansion will increase the metalcasters’ capacity by more than 320,000 units annually, representing ap- proximately 20 new jobs and an $8.4 million investment. The Buffalo plant will receive $64 million and 40 new
jobs. Production at all three facilities will begin by the end of 2012. Toyota Motor Manufacturing West Virginia Inc. cur-
rently builds 6-speed transmissions for V6 engine mod- els including the Avalon, Camry, Lexus RX350, Sienna and Venza. The expansion will bring the division’s annual transmission capacity to nearly 400,000. The expansion raises total employment to approximately 1,100 and total plant investment to $1.26 billion. ■
