Ajax Tocco Acquires Certain Assets of ABP Induction Ajax Tocco获得了ABP感应电炉公司的资产


Ajax Tocco Magnethermic, Warren, Ohio, U.S., an- nounced it has acquired the induction systems assets and intellectual property formerly known as Pillar from ABP Induction, New Brunswick, N.J., U.S. Te business provides induction systems and aftermar-


ket parts and services. Te sale includes ABP’s Brookfield, Wis., and Sterling Heights, Mich., operations. Its induc- tion melting operations in North Brunswick and Massillon, Ohio, are unaffected, as are its international operations ABP Induction Systems Shanghai, Shanghai, China (pre- viously Pillar Shanghai). Ajax said in a press release it will reinstate the name Pillar


Induction and operate the assets as a separate division. All Pillar products will continue to be sold, and markets served will continue to be supported. All personnel associated with the Pillar products have been transferred to the new division. “With excess capacity in the U.S. induction heating


equipment market today and for the foreseeable future, we believe consolidation is necessary,” said Paul Decker, ABP’s chief executive officer. “Tis transaction provides an attrac- tive return to our shareholders while freeing resources for ABP to focus on its core [metalcasting] market and induc- tion heating outside of North America, particularly in the rapidly growing markets.” ■

vaCast Systems will continue operations from its head office in Ronneby and acquire 100% of the shares in NovaCast Solutions USA Inc., Naperville, Ill., U.S. NovaCast Systems will continue the business of selling


metalcasting engineering software applications together with necessary hardware solutions, implementation, support and assistance, as well as long term service contracts. ■
