Fun Factory UK closes its doors Industry golfers tee off

The Fun Factory UK office has closed and all wholesale enquiries will now be dealt with by the firm’s head office in Bremen, Germany. Former Fun Factory UK head Stephanie Baker (pictured) has left the company though she will continue to contribute to marketing initiatives on a freelance basis. Noëlle Brandl of Fun Factory commented: “The decision to manage operations from Germany has to do with two essential factors. First, Ms Baker will be making some changes in her life and secondly, the move to a new, larger head office in Bremen offers the best possibilities for overseeing the UK business. The distribution partners will continue to play an important role on location ensuring customers are taken care of and supplied in the best possible way. The sales and marketing strategies can be united in Bremen guaranteeing consistent communication on an international level.

This strategic decision serves our

customers well and promises a strong and effective presence for the Fun Factory brand.” UK retailers wishing to purchase Fun

Factory products should contact Uwe at Fun Factory on 0049 421 520 76 153 or

email uwe@funfactory.de. Minimum order value remains at £300 and orders

worth £400 or more qualify for free carriage.

GODFREY PROMOTED TO GM 50,000 lingerie customers for sale

Planet Earth Logistics account manager Sam Godfrey has been promoted to general manager. This announcement comes on the back of Planet Earth sealing a number of exclusive distribution agreements for 2011 for which Godfrey was a driving force. Managing director Louise Boote said:

“In the three years Sam has been with us, her role has continually changed within Planet Earth and she has always proven herself competent when handling any challenge we give her.

Because of this, this promotion is a natural progression for Sam. To our clients, Sam is already a main point of contact and this promotion reflects Sam’s importance to Planet Earth’s client base and her continued dedication to the company.” Whilst the position will mainly

include additional internal responsibilities, Godfrey will now be the main point of contact for companies looking for distribution partners within the UK and continental Europe

Dash Direct Wholesale Lingerie has announced that it is seeking to sell its retail arm, Wickedelic Lingerie. The sale will enable it to concentrate its efforts on the wholesale market and will ensure it is not competing with its trade customers in the retail space. Kelly Minhinnick, head of wholesale sales at Dash Direct, commented: “The Dash Direct Wholesale Lingerie operation has been gathering momentum over the past few years and it is now time to concentrate our efforts in support of the trade. Our customers are fully aware of Wickedelic Lingerie and its strong position in the market and will no doubt be relieved to find that we are about to stand aside and leave the retailing of our brands to them.” She continued: “Wickedelic Lingerie has been a prominent force in retailing excellent quality lingerie at fair prices and has a strong, loyal and active database which will be placed on the open market. With over 50,000 customers on the database, 20,000 with email addresses, this really is a prime opportunity for someone to acquire a readymade customer base.” The price is described as

“reasonable and at a huge discount to the cost of acquisition”. Serious enquiries, from principals

only, should be made to davidhildrew@yahoo.co.uk

An adult industry golf day took place at the Belmont Lodge Golf Course in Hereford on May 20th. The Inaugural Industry Golf Cup Challenge 2011 was contested by three teams: Northumbria, consisting of representatives from Cocktails and ID Lube; Mercia, represented by Soho Books, Harmony, Private and JG Publishing; and Wessex, represented by ABS, Erigo and Score.

According to one of the players, the ground was dry and the rough was very rough. Many of the fairways were sloped and the Wye River, which ran parallel to many holes, was in full flow. The teams played as a four ball with the two highest Stable ford scores counting per hole. Wessex opted to go first and quickly found their stride, opening up a gap of four holes, and they finished ahead of the rest. This later proved to be their only victory - finishing first. Team Northumbria, dressed for the occasion in black and bearing the ancient Northumbrian coat of arms, was led by David Boothby (Snr) of Cocktails and Team Mercia by Anthony Al-ghabban of Soho Books. After freshening up for dinner, prizes were handed out to Steve Elvins of Harmony Films (nearest the pin), Tim Hemming of ABS (longest drive) and the Northumbria team (victorious team).

After exploring the night life of Hereford only four players surfaced the following morning for another round of 18 holes. The intention is for this to be an inter- company tournament next year and it is open to all involved in the adult industry. If you would like to reserve a place email
