Janus closes shop Measom Freer introduces new spatula but open on web
The noted Soho bookshop Janus has closed its doors for the last time following the death of its founder Mr Gordon Sergeant. The shop which specialised in spanking related material was something of an institution in Soho and had been trading from its Old Compton Street address for over 40 years.
ETO has been told that in 1982,
when Westminster City Council introduced the licensing scheme, it insisted that the shop’s windows were blacked out - and the boards used in the window display were painted black by the legendary artist Francis Bacon. Mr Sergeant’s nephew Tarquin Sergeant has been appointed to oversee a transition to Internet trading and the website
www.janusworldwide.com is now up and running and supplying the world’s spanking needs.
Measom Freer has added a new medium size spatula to its popular spatula, applicators and spoons range. The spatula is available from stock in clarified polypropylene, polystyrene and high density polyethylene with colours to order. The new spatula is said to be ideal for applying wax or gel products for use in personal care, cosmetic and pharmaceutical areas. The plastic spatula applicators are
available in 50mm, 100mm and 166mm lengths and are designed to be user friendly with radiused edges for
comfortable application. They are suitable for anything requiring careful product application such as waxes, gels and creams and have a number of uses including hair removal and lightening, samples, toiletries, cosmetics etc. The largest spatula can also be used in conjunction with the company’s scoops for retrieval of gels from flat surfaces. The spoon, available in white polystyrene, has a capacity of 2.5ml and is ideal for administering liquids or in food tubs etc. Bottles, jars, boxes, measures and
scoops are all available off the shelf, as well as a host of different caps - including flip caps, dropper caps, screw and snap on caps - and all products are designed and manufactured in-house. The company also offers bespoke product design and a printing service for their bottles and ancillary products and bespoke designed products can be made to customers’ own requirements.
