AITA UPDATE ONLINE FILMS
AITA has been building up momentum recently; in March we had our largest open meeting for some time, filling up the meeting room, and on May 9th we organised a well- attended joint meeting with sexual freedom campaigners to discuss how we can fight back against censorship and “moralistic” attacks on our industry.
LUBRICANTS PACKAGING
April was a month of good news for AITA. We are pleased to announce that Xbiz is set to join in anticipation of their European expansion - kicking off with their Xbiz EU 2011 International Digital Media conference, set for September 23-25 in London. We also have ICM joining (the .xxx registrar), who will be sponsoring our next Open Meeting to be held on the 15th June 2011, in order to allow more understanding on the impending roll-out of the .xxx top-level domain. AITA was also nominated for an Erotic Award for Campaigner of the Year. Unfortunately Nick Fox from Axcess Merchant Services has had to step down from his role on the AITA Board as he needs to devote more attention to their successes they currently find in new contracts abroad. We thank Nick for all the work and support he has given us during his tenure. As we only have four active committee members, we are seeking new volunteers who would like to join.
PROMOTIONAL SERVICES
The Sex and Politics talk we held on the 9th May was very well received by all those who attended it and we thank the speakers for giving us their time and sharing their insight with us. See elsewhere in this issue for a full report on this event.
STIMULANTS
The government is still moving forward with its Internet filtering plans, and we are trying to be as active as possible in the discussions. More updates will be forthcoming at the June meeting. As you can see things are really kicking up a gear, and we look forward to all of our members, old and new alike, attending our sponsored Open Meeting on the 15th June, at 5pm at The Hercules Pillars on Great Queen Street.
