Eddon Small Craft Gathering June 4
Craft gathering event from
10:00 am-4:00 pm, at Eddon Boat Park located at 3805 Harborview Drive downtown on Gig Harbor’s historic waterfront. Owners, stewards, and admirers of these small craft, which include the 9’ Minto, 12’ Gig, and 16’ Wherry, are expected to converge by “land-or-by-sea” to the Gig Harbor BoatShop dock or park area for this free public celebration of small craft designed or built by the Eddon Boat Company. In partnership with Maritime Gig Festival activities, this event will feature small craft on display, free tours of the historic boatyard, Thunderbird Sailboat #2 restoration underway, on- the-water races, rowing, and sailing. are held at North Seattle Community college, 7:30 pm on the third Friday of the month in the Concert Hall LB1141. Your $3 donation at the door helps cover the room rent. www.pugetsoundcruisingclub.org June 17: An evening of sea stories and learn from the mistakes of veteran sailors such as David Content, who has sailed more than 50,000 ocean miles and Garth Wilcox, who circumnavigated the globe on a 40-foot double ender in the 70's. June 25-26: Blakely Harbor cruise, salmon bake and potluck dinner. There are no scheduled PSCC meetings or cruises in July or August.
Foss Harbor Marina Outdoor Movies
The Foss Harbor Marina is excited
to announce a new summer feature at their Tacoma marina. Free outdoor movies will be shown every other Saturday starting on June 11 and running through September 3. All tenants, including guest tenants will be allowed to participate in this bi-monthly event. Should there be inclement weather; the movie will be moved indoors. The marina has also added a new popcorn machine in preparation for its cinematic debut. This summer the theme for the movies will be maritime-based. Due to licensing requirements, the marina is not allowed to publish actual titles that will be showing on these nights. However, tenants and guests may call and ask for the planned movie on a particular night. Movie nights are scheduled for June 11, June 25, July 9, July 23, August 6, August 20, August 27 and September 3.
