Letters A Cruising Equipment Company for Real Cruisers™ Expired Flare Disposal
The King County Bomb Squad and the Coast Guard Auxiliary started a flare disposal program back in 1999. There are four places in Seattle where boaters can turn in expired flares:
- Fishermen’s Terminal - Maritime Industrial Center - Shilshole Bay Marina - Bell Harbor Marina
Flares also can be turned in at the Port of Edmonds.
Additionally, most local fire departments will take them as they are essentially highway flares.

Whether you’re here for a vacation or are looking for permanent moorage in a Pacific Northwest paradise, Deer Harbor Marina should be a key waypoint on your journey. Come enjoy the beauty of Deer Harbor throughout the season.
The Other Side of the World 48° North went to the Bay of Islands and to
Marlborough Sounds in February, with a bunch of us Canadians. Here I am at Ships Cove in Marlborough Sounds at the Captain Cook Memorial.

What a terrific place to sail. It is thought to be Captain Cook’s favorite place to resupply and R&R.
