Pattern
Border 2 1. Aligning the centre points of both strip and quilt top edge, sew two strips to the sides, beginning and ending ¼” from the corners. Tere is excess at both ends to create the mitred finish.
2. Cut two strips approximately 50” long and match centre points. Pin to the top and bottom.
3. Check for accuracy in matching the stripe on the mitred corners by folding back the top strip at a 45° angle. Diagram 8 and 9

FINISHING TOUCHES Border 1 Pieced Quilt Top
1. Layer, baste and quilt the top. Our quilter quilted a large pantograph stitch. Baby quilts also look charming with simple diagonal stitching across the full length of the quilt.
2. Join the binding strips on the diagonal.
3. Fold in half lengthwise. Attach using a walking foot to the quilt edge.
4. Add a label to the back of the quilt recording any and all relevant information.
