Feature Panel 2011 Resolutions
The new year is well underway and we’re wondering what promises we’ve made as busy quilters. Our panel members across Ireland share their new year ambitions and progress thus far.
Cathi O’Neill My new year’s resolution has been
to eat more fruit and veg and drink more water, which has given me more energy. Which in turn, has me doing more crafting!!
Tus far, I’ve gotten some stuffed animal presents sewn, some blocks
entered into Facebook groups (
www.facebook.com/l/21e22Npp0kYlrZK1G7GIIckaX7Q;
blocklotto.blogspot.com: good site to try out some new blocks and maybe, win enough that month to make a quilt out them) and start a quilt for a friend going through chemo.
Terri McNeill My new year resolution for 2011 is to
achieve a better work/life balance.
Sadly, friends and family have been somewhat neglected over the past two years while I have been working on Irish Quilting, keeping my weekly classes going and building a business.
So ... I definitely want to try stick to more regular working hours, with as much free time as possible at weekends to rejoin the human race. Watch this space !?!
Sonnie Cridge My new year’s resolution was to
finish the mass amounts of projects I’ve started over the past few years and have yet to finish. Truthfully, I haven’t been that active in my resolution. But I will make sure February is a successful month!
28 Irish Quilting | Volume 2 Issue 6 Nikki Foley I love Christmas, it lulls me into
a false sense of security! As I have a relaxing time with my boys and husband, I start to believe I can conquer the world. I start every new year with loads of resolutions and feel empowered!
Tis year, however, I decided not to have any resolutions, and decided the super hero life would be better left to someone else. My decision was if something needs doing, then get on
and do it, and if something needs changing, act straight away! So far so good, most things I have managed but a few have fell by the wayside. On the whole though my new attitude has prevented me failing miserably and hopefully will keep me on my toes for the rest of the year!
Karen Maxwell
Mine were to lose weight and to try and be more organised and
enthusiastic in regards to housework. I am slowly losing some weight, as for the
housework...it’s very difficult
to get enthusiastic about it, especially when there is a new package of lovely fabric waiting with my name on it!
Gwenda McInerney
I don’t make new year resolutions as I never adhere to them. Te only thing I do intend to do is more patchwork.
