First Impressions Creating a one-of-a-kind Invitation

Fast for- ward a bit. During

this time period, I also found my girls gowns, decided on color, designed our very interesting menu with my future hubby (I will go into menu design in segment 3), had our fabulous tasting, designed our centerpieces and tablescape (you guessed it, that's also going to have to wait till segment 3), custom linens, gents attire, and invitations.

Now after I so cleverly designed this fantastic show piece for our save-the-date, it dawned on me that we set the bar awfully high and our invitation would now need to be a masterpiece. After speaking with my fiancé about what he might want for invites and getting that deer in headlights look from him

With that said, and in true Tiffany style, let's back track. Last seg- ment we left off with Save-the-Dates. After thinking about what I wanted for some time – and searching for things I liked and not finding anything – it was a sam- ple Save-the-Date for

(probably the same look he gets from me when he so passionately explains how he birdied the 3rd hole on the back 9,,, huh??), he ever so graciously suggested that I take the wheel on the invite design. So I left him in the rough and went off to create our masterpiece. I knew I didn't want paper, and although I was drawn to silk boxes, wanted to do something no one had seen before, as if that's a surprise. I love a mix of textures, and had recently had a thing for plexiglas. I loved the rich elegant look of black, yet wanted to bring in some color, and let's not forget a bit of bling. A girl’s gotta have bling! It all came together when I looked at paper samples. I would have an oversized gatefold box, incorporate the mirror, cobalt blue (shhhh don't tell anyone - I'm not actually talking colors till next segment), bling, and plexiglas all together. I even threw in a bit of my quirky humor.

Now for the wording and monogram design. On our first trip to Paris I brought back a photo of a beautiful monogram from the ceiling of the Louvre, never realizing that it would be the Inspiration for so many things to come, including our wedding monogram.
